The U.S. Department of Labor Awards Watermark the 2023 Hire Vets Gold Medallion Award

November 8, 2023. Triangle, VA. Today the U.S. Secretary of Labor recognized Watermark Risk Management International, LLC as one of the recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony. Watermark was presented with the Gold Medallion Award after applying earlier this year. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the Department of Labor has awarded Watermark with the Gold Medallion for their unwavering support of veterans.

The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing (HIRE) American Military Veterans Act Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. All awardees must show a consistent commitment to hiring veterans and prove they have a long-term career and growth plan in place at the company to utilize the diverse and valuable skill sets veterans acquire throughout their military service.

“Watermark is absolutely honored to receive this award for the fourth year in a row,” Kevin Hodges, President of Watermark, said. “This continual recognition validates our consistent support of veterans and assisting them through their transition to the civilian work force. We want our veterans to know we are deeply committed to assisting them, whether transitioning from the military or in the workforce looking for a new job. As a U.S. veteran myself, this award is especially meaningful. Watermark is deeply appreciative to be among those recognized for our commitment year after year. We thank the Department of Labor for considering us worthy and presenting us with the award.”

Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award must meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
