Watermark Awarded the U.S. Department of Labor Hire Vets Medallion for the Fifth Consecutive Year

Triangle, VA, November 6, 2024. The U.S. Secretary of Labor has awarded Watermark Risk Management International, LLC the winner of one of the 2024 HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Awards during a virtual award ceremony that took place on October 31, 2024. This marks the fifth year Watermark has won the award and the first year we have won the higher-level Platinum Award for our unwavering support of veterans in the workplace.

The Department of Labor’s Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing (HIRE) American Military Veterans Act Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. All awardees must meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. Applicants must also prove they have a long-term career and growth plans in place at the company to utilize the diverse and valuable skill sets veterans acquire throughout their military service.

“Watermark is beyond honored to receive this award for the fifth year in a row,” Kevin Hodges, President of Watermark, said. “We are especially thrilled to have won the Platinum Award this year which reflects our dedicated and committed expansion of our support for the veterans who have proudly served our country. As a U.S. veteran myself, this award is especially meaningful. Watermark has worked hard to increase the availability of veteran-specific resources; dedicated human resource efforts; and added tuition and certification assistance programs. All of this is targeted to assist our team members in increasing skills and knowledge to attain critical skill to be more marketable in the civilian workforce.”
