WATERMARK’S NEW CHARITABLE FOUNDATION GIVES BACK

The Watermark Foundation received special recognition and thanks at the 2023 Global Security Exchange (GSX) event held in Dallas, Texas from September 11-13. The Foundation was recognized for its annual donation to the American Society for Industrial Security’s (ASIS) security certification scholarship program for military personnel and veterans. This program helps them achieve one of ASIS’s many professional security certifications.

Mike Green, an ASIS Military Liaison Committee (MLC) member, expressed his gratitude at the event stating: “Watermark’s contribution put us well over our donation goal. This generous donation underscores their commitment to supporting security professionals and advancing the industry.”

Kevin Hodges, President of The Watermark Foundation, as well as Watermark Risk Management International, LLC, responded: “It’s an honor to support ASIS’s MCL scholarship program. We created The Watermark Foundation to ensure we always have a way to give back to our military and veteran community. ASIS’s program epitomizes our foundation’s goal in this support. I encourage all industry partners to join us in giving back, especially to veterans, for their dedicated service to the Nation. The Watermark Foundation will continue to support veterans, including those transitioning from active duty back to the civilian workforce; veteran suicide prevention programs; and schools and educational programs in our own underserved communities where we live and work.”

After acquiring deep, hands-on experience in antiterrorism, critical infrastructure protection, physical security strategies, and risk management, Matt went on to develop executive government and business leadership and management skills that enable him to formulate strategy for Watermark’s clients.

Matt retired as a Colonel after serving 22 years in the U.S. Air Force. His military assignments included assignments as the senior U.S. government security official responsible for security oversight of our nation’s nuclear weapons program and as the senior security officer for the US Air Force Special Operations Command.

After retiring, Matt created and grew the integrated security consulting service division at a Fortune 500 company; within 3 years it was yielding >125% annual growth. He left that position to become VP/Chief Security Officer at Brinks Inc., one of the world’s largest risk-management companies. After establishing Watermark, he served for two years as Chairman of the Board and CEO of one of the largest security services companies in the U.S. At Watermark, he is responsible for overall business strategy, growth, and customer satisfaction.
