FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Nov. 10, 2022, Triangle, VA. U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin J. Walsh recognized Watermark Risk Management International, LLC yesterday as one of the Department of Labor’s recipients of the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Award. Watermark was presented with their third consecutive Gold Medallion Award after applying earlier this year. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing (HIRE) American Military Veterans Act Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. Awardees must show a consistent commitment to hiring veterans and prove they have a long-term career and growth plan in place at the company to utilize the diverse and valuable skill sets veterans acquire throughout their military service.
“Watermark is proud to receive this award for the third year in a row,” said Kevin Hodges, President of Watermark. “This continual recognition validates our support of veterans and how we are dedicated to assisting them through their transition to the civilian work force. We want all veterans to know we are committed to them, whether they are transitioning from the military or are already in the workforce looking for a new job. As a U.S. veteran myself, this award is especially meaningful. Watermark is deeply honored to be among those recognized for our commitment year after year. We thank the Department of Labor and Secretary Walsh for presenting us with the award.”
Recipients of the 2022 HIRE Vets Medallion Award must meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
